• 3rd Quarter Topper Pride Recipients for 2023-2024 School Year

    Senior

    Charles Shepherd

    Charles Shepherd has been selected as the recipient of the Topper Pride award at HHS for the third quarter of the ongoing school year. Currently a senior at HHS, Charles is the son of Catherine Shepherd. He finds joy in various activities such as playing the drum, constructing houses, exercising, and engaging in video games. Additionally, he cherishes spending time with his brother. His highlight of high school lies in the Building Trades class under the guidance of Mr. Shultz. When Charles reads, its typically technical literature aimed at learning something new. His four-year involvement in the band at HHS has been particularly enjoyable. Charles offers advice to Amelia Fuller, suggesting exploration of diverse subjects in high school to ascertain personal interests fully. He extends gratitude to Landon Frisbie for being a steadfast friend for the past 9 years. Post-graduation, Charles aspires to pursue a career in construction.

      

    Junior

    Eli Howard

    Eli Howard, currently a junior at HHS, is the proud son of Stefanie Howard and Josh Howard. Eli has been honored to represent his fellow juniors by receiving the Topper Pride award for the third quarter of the 2023-2024 school year. Among his hobbies, Eli delights in biking around his neighborhood, playing tennis with friends, and engaging in Mario games with his sister. High school holds a special place in Eli's heart due to the stimulating classes and dedicated teachers, which he finds both challenging and enjoyable. Tending to plants is another passion of Eli's. At HHS, he is actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including the boy’s tennis team, Student Council, Art Club, Interact Club, Science Club, Scholar Bowl, Sources of Strength, and BTOP council. Eli advises his peers to stay on top of their studies and to participate in school activities. He expresses gratitude to Mrs. Satterlee for her consistent support in ensuring all students have the necessary materials for understanding math. Post-graduation, Eli plans to attend college and pursue an MD/PhD to fulfill his dream of becoming a cardiologist or general physician, working particularly in emergency rooms.

    Sophomore

    Kinsley Trader

    Kinsley Trader, daughter of Brandon and Angelica Trader, is currently a sophomore at HHS. She finds fulfillment in various activities, including cheerleading at HHS, participating in BTOP, Science Club, and Student Council. Beyond her school commitments, Kinsley enjoys tumbling, driving, spending time with friends, and going on walks. With three siblings, a dog, and a cat, Kinsley's household is lively. She actively engages in cheerleading at HHS, as well as participating in BTOP, Science Club, and Student Council. Kinsley's leisure reading leans towards romance novels. Her favorite aspect of HHS is attending basketball and football games, where she can cheer enthusiastically for the teams. Kinsley expresses appreciation for Amber Carroll's kindness and helpfulness. Following high school graduation, Kinsley aspires to pursue a career in surgery, with plans to attend Washington University.

    Freshman

    Briley Kirby

    Briley Kirby is a freshman at Hillsboro High School this year and has been chosen to receive the Topper Pride award for the third quarter of the 2023-2024 school year.  Briley is the daughter of Jackie Ward and Brandon Kirby.  Briley enjoys exercising and playing sports.  She has three cats and two dogs.  In addition, Briley likes baking and spending time with her friends.  Briley's favorite part of high school is seeing all her friends.  At HHS, Briley is involved in volleyball and softball.  She also enjoys reading thriller books.  Her favorite musician artists include:  Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift and Zach Bryan.  Her advice to others is to be respectful.  Briley would like to give a shout out to Albany Kindernay because she has always been there for Briley.  In five years, Briley hopes to be in college.
