• 2014 TOP TOPPERS AT HHS

    The Top Topper is awarded monthly to an HHS student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction.  Teachers of HHS nominate students with administration making the final decision.

    Hillsboro High School Top Topper Program strives to improve school climate through recognizing students for their acts of kindness and other good deeds that are performed on campus.  Established last year this program is supported by local businesses.  The Orpheum Theatre, Gianni's Pizza, Hardee's, McDonald's, Subway, Pizza Man, Pizza Hut, and Little Italy's have all provided Top Toppers with a night out on the town with dinner and a movie.  To be eligible, students are nominated by a high school staff member each month.  The idea behind the Top Topper Program was to reward behavior that is often over-looked.  There is hope that the program will grow to the point that it creates a positive school climate of connected individuals.  Gandhi suggested that one should, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”  The Top Topper Program recognizes those who exhibit a willingness to contribute their efforts in making Hillsboro High School a better place.

  • Kayla has been chosen one of the senior Top Toppers for the month of August at HHS.  Kayla's favorite class is Creative Drawing because she loves to be creative.  In her spare time she enjoys sewing, tweeting, and work.  Kayla is usually found reading books in the drama and comedy section.  After HHS graduation, she plans on attending The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in California.
     
  • Carleisha has been chosen as senior Top Topper for August 2014 at HHS also.  Carleisha's favorite teacher is Ms. Lomprez and all of the classes Ms. Lomprez teaches.  She enjoys watching television and some of her favorite shows are:  ICarly, Victorious, and all wrestling shows.  She enjoys reading the Bible.  She also likes to attend Sunday School with her teachers and pastor. Carleisha always likes to help others.
  • Maddy has been chosen the junior Top Topper at HHS for the month of August.  Maddy enjoys hanging out with her friends and she is also on the HHS basketball and softball teams.  After high school she is undecided what she would like to do; however, she does know she would like to attend college. 
  • Colin has been named the Top Topper for the sophomore class at HHS.  Colin enjoys English class with Mrs. Powell because she makes the class fun.  In his spare time he enjoys playing catch with his little brother.  His favorite book is Old Yeller and his future plans include going to college.  He is excited he only has a few days left until he turns 16.  
  • Antone is the Freshman Top Topper chosen by administration and teachers at HHS for the month of August.  He enjoys Western Civilization class because it is a cool class.  In his spare time he likes to be with his friends, relax and play video games.  He enjoys fiction and nonfiction books to read.  He does not know his plans after high school but he thinks he would enjoy writing.
