• 2nd Quarter Topper Pride Recipients for 2023-2024 School Year

    Senior

    Ben Hoehn

    Ben Hoehn is a senior this year at Hillsboro High School.  Ben has been chosen to represent the senior class for the Topper Pride Award for the 2nd Quarter of the 2023-2024 school year.  Ben is the son of Dennis and Kelly Hoehn.  Ben enjoys playing the trombone, racing games, and fetch with his dog Lucy. Ben's favorite part of high school is the weight room.  He feels starting his morning with a workout helps him be productive throughout the day.  Currently Ben is the president of the senior class, a member of the Culture Club and Science Club.  He is active in HHS band, Scholar Bowl and Pit Orchestra. Ben enjoys science fiction books; his favorite book is Scythe by Neal Shusterman. Ben would like to give a shout-out to Caesar Edwards because he inspires him to do what he does every day.  After high school graduation, Ben sees himself working on a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering at SIUC.  He aspires to become a computer hardware engineer.  

    Junior

    Andrea Huber

    Andrea Huber is a junior this year at HHS and is the daughter of Don and Carrie Huber.  Andrea has two sisters and two dogs.   Andrea likes to spend time with her family, including watching movies or playing games. Her favorite part of Hillsboro High School is the various options of clubs and activities that are available to students. Currently, Andrea is in Scholar Bowl, band, Chamber Choir, Culture Club, Debate Club, and Interact Club. She likes to read mystery, romance, and action books. Andrea would like to give a shout-out to Emily Lanter for being a great friend. After high school graduation, Andrea is looking forward to college and a career she really enjoys.

    Sophomore

    Sophia Mullen

    Sophia Mullen is a sophomore at HHS this year. Sophia is the daughter of Kristen and E.J. Mullen.  She lives with both of her parents and her older brother.  Sophia has three dogs and two cats and her family also owns and operates a cattle farm with about fifty head of cattle. Sophia’s favorite part of HHS is the passion that teachers have towards the success of all of their students.  So many teachers have pushed Sophia to be her best. In her spare time, Sophia likes to read and go on walks.  She also volunteers with many different organizations. Currently, Sophia is the sophomore class vice-president.  She is also a Hillsboro FFA Chapter Officer.  She is involved in Debate Club, BTOP and Science Club. Sophia would like to give a shout-out to Rylie Jones for being her best friend. After high school graduation, Sophia plans to go to college and get a degree in English Education.

    Freshman

    Roberto (Beto) Quiroz Garcia

    Roberto (Beto) Quiroz Garcia is a freshman at HHS this year and is representing the freshman class Topper Pride recipient for the second quarter of this school year.  His parents are Saul Quiroz and Lupita Quiroz.  He has an older brother who is currently attending Loyola College.  Beto would like to recognize his parents for being amazing and always trying their best for him and his brother. Beto’s favorite part of HHS is the teachers.  Beto says they are all very nice and they deeply care for each one of their students.  Beto likes to play and watch sports. He is a goalie in soccer. In his spare time he likes to hang out with his friends. It is also very important to him to be around his family. Beto would like to give a shout-out to Kash for always making him laugh and always being there for him.  After high school, Beto plans to attend college.
