• ianmalloyIan Malloy is the Hillsboro High School senior chosen for the Topper Pride Award this third quarter of the 2021-2022 school year.  Ian is the son of Blake and Julia Malloy.  Ian is an active member of the football team, wrestling team, track team and FFA at HHS.  His favorite part of high school is sports because he loves being active and social.  Ian says he also enjoys food and hanging out with family in his spare time.  Ian would like to share his philosophy with everyone that “every day is a good day to have a good day”.  Ian would like to give a shout out to his parents for shaping him into the man he is today.    After high school, Ian plans to go to Augustana college.  He would someday like to be a business representative for an agricultural business. 

    isabellaharstonIsabella Harston is a junior at Hillsboro High School this year.  Isabella has been chosen as the recipient for the Topper Pride Award this third quarter of the 2021-2022 school year. Isabella is the daughter of Diantha and Kelly Harston.  Isabella has a busy life.  She is a very active peer leader in Sources of Strength at HHS and goes on to say Sources of Strength is her favorite part of high school because it makes her feel she is helping people in our community. Isabella’s likes include her dog named Pixie, her family, her faith/religion and science.  She has taught her dog tricks such as:  “Trust Fall” and “Dab Me Up”.  Isabella would like to will to her cousin Cheyenne, the ability to dance and bob her head when Mr. Garmon plays the “Friday Song” on every Friday.  Isabella would like to give a shout out to Summer Smith because Summer does so much for our community and brings kindness to others.  After high school Isabella plans to go to college to get a degree to become a marine biologist.

    lilychurchwellLily Churchwell is the sophomore chosen for the Topper Pride Award this third quarter of 2021-2022 school year.  Lily is the daughter of Tracy and Roger Churchwell.  Lily is active in Scholar Bowl and HHS and the Debate Club.  Her favorite part of high school is the music programs.  Lily would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Lemons for putting on such an amazing performance this year, and still caring about our mental health in the process.  Lily has a dog named Chewie and if she isn’t hanging out with Chewie she is probably hanging out with friends, watching Netflix or up cycling clothes.  After high school, Lily plans on going to college for teaching somewhere in a big city and maybe participate in a foreign exchange program. 

    gregblandGreg Bland is the HHS freshman chosen for the Topper Pride Award this third quarter of the 2021-2022 school year.  Greg is the son of Melinda Goodman and Trersa and Dennis Hollingshead.  Greg enjoys hanging out with family and friends, attending high school football games, going to church and participating in bible quizzing.   Greg would like to share of piece of advice to everyone:  “be kind to others, no matter what kind of day you are having, because for some people that little bit of kindness, could be the most they see for the rest of the day that will help keep them going.” Greg would like to give a shout out to Mitchell Cunningham because of his continuous excitement and joy he brings for everyone.  After high school, Greg plans to go to Greenville University and earn a degree in criminal justice and then proceed into a law enforcement career.
