2015-2016 TOP TOPPERS AT HHS
The Top Topper is awarded monthly to an HHS student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction. Teachers of HHS nominate students with administration making the final decision.

Hunter Lyerla has been chosen as the Senior Top Topper for this month at HHS. Hunter's parent's are Tamela and Troy Lewis. Hunter says his favorite class is American Government with Mr. Koniak because he gets to do whatever he wants. Hunter says in his spare time he likes to fish and play guitar. His favorite book is "The Last Lecture" and his favorite music to listen to is country and classic rock. His family and his girlfriend motivate him to be a better person. His advice to other students is to act your age not your IQ. After high school Hunter plans on going to lineman school.

The April Top Topper was awarded to Junior, Emily Benning. Emily is the daughter of Jenny and Denny Hiller, and Nathan Benning. Her favorite class at HHS is Anatomy with Mr. Garmon because she enjoys dissecting and learning about the body. In her spare time, Emily enjoys playing volleyball and hanging with her friends. Here at HHS, Emily is involved in National Honor Society, and Varsity Volleyball. Her favorite author is Nicholas Sparks and her favorite book by him is The Last Song. Emily’s favorite music genre is Country. When asked what or who motivates her to succeed in life, she stated that her family motivates her to become the best person to her ability. Her advice for other students is to not be afraid to be yourself and always try your hardest. Emily’s favorite inspirational quote is “Be somebody nobody thought you could be”. When given the opportunity to give a shoutout to one person and why they chose this person, she chose Mr. Garmon because he always makes class fun and interesting. After High school, Emily plans to go to college to become a nurse.

Dakota Cox has been chosen as the sophomore Top Topper for the month of April at HHS. Dakota is the son of Duane Cox. His favorite class is PE because there is never any homework. Dakota likes to hang with friends in his free time. He does not enjoy reading books. He plays HHS Football and likes country music. His father motivates him to succeed in life. His advice for other students is to just have fun. His favorite inspirational quote is “use the right door”. After high school he plans to attend college.

Jordan Gregg has been chosen as the Citizenship Award for the freshman this month of April. Jordan's parents are Adam and Wendy Gregg of Hillsboro. Jordan's favorite class is Home Economics because he gets to cook. In his spare time Jordan says he plays sports. At HHS he plays football, basketball, baseball and track. He enjoys reading books about sports and action books and he enjoys all types of music. Jordan says his family motivates him to be successful. His advice to to other students is to always work as hard as you can. His inspirational quote is "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken." Jordan would like to give a shout out to Gage and Kaden for making varsity. After high school Jordan plans are to go to college, play more sports, and major in accounting.
