1st Quarter Topper Pride Recipients for 2023-2024 School Year
Senior
Camden Hendricks
Camden Hendricks has been chosen as the Topper Pride award recipient for the senior class this first quarter of the 2023-2024 school year. Cam is the son of Brian and Jennifer Hendricks. Cam enjoys watching WWE, NFL, and all Halloween movies (even though Halloween is gone for another year). Cam also enjoys hanging out in the HHS cafeteria during lunch with all his friends. Cam was an integral part of the HHS football team this year. Cam would like to give a shout out to his friend Carl. He wills Carl the ability to laugh loudly at work study class. Cam would also like to give a shout out to his friend, Seth Hubbart because Cam says, “Seth is one of the best players on the football team”. In five years, Cam hopes to be an NFL coach.
Junior
Tycen Thacker
Tycen Thacker, a junior at Hillsboro High School, has been chosen as the Topper Pride award recipient for HHS for the first quarter of this 2023-2024 school year. Tycen is the son of Stacy and Pam Thacker. Tycen enjoys spending time with his family, going to the gym, hanging out with friends and hunting. Tycen’s favorite part of HHS is enjoying the BTOP sections at sports because it is such a fun atmosphere. At HHS, Tycen is a member of FFA and also on the golf team. Tycen's advice to others at HHS is to live your high school experience to the fullest--you only get one chance at high school! Tycen would like to give a shout out to Mitchell Lowe because no matter what he is doing or what may be bothering him, Mitchell never fails to bring joy to people and put a smile on everyone's face. Tycen currently runs a business of digging graves. After high school, Tycen plans to become a heavy equipment operator and either run his own business or go work in the union.
Sophomore
Mackenzie Jarman
Mackenzie Jarman, a sophomore at HHS, has been chosen as the Topper Pride award recipient this quarter. Mackenzie is the daughter of Jennifer and Brandon Jarman. Mackenzie enjoys playing softball and has been playing for seven years. In addition, she enjoys spending time in the Hillsboro FFA chapter. She has two animals, a cat named Potter and a snake named Snape. Mackenzie would like to give a shout out to Mr. Gallion. Because of Mr. Gallion’s hard work and dedication, Mackenzie says she gets to do what she loves to do. In the future Mackenzie hopes to go to school for Agriculture Education and become a teacher at a high school.
Freshman
Lexi Downey
Lexi Downey is the daughter of Michael and Martha Downey. Lexi was chosen to represent the freshmen in the first quarter of this school year for the Topper Pride award. Lexi enjoys reading, art and playing tennis. Her favorite part of high school so far is Homecoming week. She enjoyed embracing the school spirit. Lexi also enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Lexi belongs to Sources of Strength at HHS, Art Club, Science Club, and tennis. Her advice to other students is to always try your best. Lexi would like to give a shout out to Ryder Hoover for being a great leader. After high school, Lexi plans on going to college.
