2016-2017 TOP TOPPERS AT HHS
The Top Topper is awarded monthly to an HHS student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction. Teachers of HHS nominate students with administration making the final decision.

Emily Benning is a senior this year at HHS and has been chosen for the Top Topper Award. Her parents are Nathan Benning and Dennis and Jenny Hiller. Emily's favorite classes are Consumer Education and Genetics because they are both great environments to be in. Emily enjoys hanging out with friends and family in her spare time. Emily reads Nicholas Sparks books and is on the HHS volleyball team. Emily is also a member of the National Honor Society. Emily enjoys listening to country music. Emily says her friends and family motivate her to succeed in life. Emily's advice to other students is to apply yourself to your full potential, get involved, and have fun. Emily would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Rench for being sweet and funny! Emily will attend college next year to pursue a career in nursing.

Kain Durbin has been chosen as the Junior Top Topper this month. Kain's parents are Shannon and Toni Durbin. Kain's favorite class is Earth and Space and his favorite thing to do in his spare time is eat food. Kain enjoys reading action and adventure books. Kain is involved in football and track at HHS and Aaron Duff motivates him to succeed in life. Kain enjoys listening to 80's rock music and his advice to other students is to "Do your work and don't be a slacker". Kain's inspriational quote is "Every successful person has had to jump" by Steve Harvey. Kain would like to give a shout out to Chase Vieweg because he is an awesome person who makes pie. Kain's plans after high school are undecided at this time.

Landen Malloy is a sophomore at HHS this year and his parent's are Ricky Malloy and Tasha Stolte. Landen has been chosen to represent the sophomore class for the Top Topper Award this month. Landen's favorite class is English II with Mrs. Powell because she is amazing. Landen enjoys working out and playing video games. His favorite books is Of Mice and Men. Landen is involved in baseball, football, and choir at HHS. Landen enjoys listening to rap music and he states he motivates himself to be successful because he has to live with himself. Landen's advice to other students is to do your work correct the first time. Landen's inspirational quote is "Life is only 10% struggle and 90% how you react". Landen would like to give a shout out to Abbi Jett because she is his best friend and she pushes him to be better. Landen's plans after high school are undecided at this time.

Riley Hemken has been chosen to represent the freshman class for Top Topper this month. Riley's parents are Ben and Carrie Hemken. Riley's favorite class is Mr. Koniak's Western Civilization class because she always has a voice in that class and there are many good times while learning. Riley likes to play basketball and softball and hit the gym when there is time. Riley is on the HHS basketball and softball teams. Riley's favorite music is "Erase your Social" by Lil Uzi Vert. Riley says her motivation to succeed in life comes from food, her parents and friends. Riley's advice for other students is to keep your friends close, don't worry about boys/girls or petty drama, none of it matters in the future. Riley likes the quote: "Faster, Higher, Stronger". Riley would like to give a shout out to Zoe Hanchell. Riley says Joe has always had her back despite their arguments in the past. After high school Riley hopes to attend Texas A & M and play softball. She is undecided on a career choice at this time.
