2015-2016 TOP TOPPERS AT HHS
The Top Topper is awarded monthly to an HHS student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction. Teachers of HHS nominate students with administration making the final decision.

Lindsey Storm is the Senior Top Topper for the month of February at Hillsboro High School. Lindsey's parents are Tim and Sara Storm. Her favorite class is Microbiology because Mr. Garmon is her favorite. In her spare time and at school she likes to golf, play basketball, and softball. She likes any song that is country and her family and friends motivate her to succeed in life. Her advice for other students is play sports because it makes high school so much more memorable. “It’s how you deal with failure that determines how you achieve success” is her favorite inspirational quote. She would like to give a shout out to Coach Allen for being a great coach and role model for her. After high school she has plans to golf at University of Springfield in Illinois.

Stetson Trotter is the HHS Junior Top Topper for the month of February. Stetson is the son of Skylar Ayers and George Trotter. Stetson's favorite class is pre-calculus because Mrs. Boston because she makes the class a blast. In his spare time, Stetson likes to weight lift, play baseball, and watch Netflix. Stetson enjoys reading the Alex Rider series. His favorite activity at HHS is playing football. His favorite type of music and song is rap, and “Hold Ya Head” by Kevin Gates. Stetson's mom and dad are the ones who motivate him to succeed in life. His advice for other students is to treat others the way that you would want to be treated. An inspirational quote that Stetson likes is, Y.O.L.O. Stetson would like to give a shout out to Mr. Duff because he is an amazing coach and an amazing person in general. After high school, Stetson hopes to attend medical school.

Katie Tate is the sophomore Top Topper for the month of February at Hillsboro High School. Katie's parents are Ron and Nancy Fry. Katie's favorite class is English because Mrs. Powell is nice and it is easy. Katie likes to ride her bike, go swimming, and go bowling in her free time. Katie likes to read the book, The One You Love. Her favorite song is Carrie Underwood, "Jesus Take the Wheel". Her mom, dad, friends, and teachers motivate her. Katie’s advice for other students is make the right decisions in life and everything will go good. Her inspirational quote she likes is Joshua J. Marine-- “Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” She would like to give a shout out to her best friends for being great. After high school Katie plans on getting a job.

The Freshmen Top Topper Award for this month at HHS is Noah McCormick. Noah's parents are Nathan and Kari McCormick. His favorite class would be choir because it is fun and very social. In his spare time, Noah enjoys playing video games, listening to music and playing sports. Noah likes to read action and adventure books and he enjoys being involved in HHS football, wrestling, and track. In choir he is is actively involved in Acapella Choir also. Noah enjoys listening to alternative music. His friends and family motivate him to succeed in life. His advice to other students is to keep their eyes on the prize and get things done. His favorite quote is: "Don't avoid being sad, because without sadness, there would be no joy." He would like to give a shout out to everyone he knows for always being there for him. After high school, he plans to go to SIU Carbondale for mechanical engineering.

Charlie Mayer is another freshman Top Topper this month at HHS. Charlie is the son of Trisha Ringhausen. His favorite class is Science because he enjoys doing experiments. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his friends. Charlie’s favorite book is The Fault in Our Stars. His favorite genre of music is pop. He is motivated by the teachers and staff at HHS. His advice for other students is to support others and stay positive. An inspirational quote he likes is, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”. When asked to acknowledge one person and why he chose Autumn Smith Charlie says Autumn supports him and has always been there for him when needed. His plans after high school is to go to college and become successful.
