    The Top Topper is awarded monthly to an HHS student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction.  Teachers of HHS nominate students with administration making the final decision.

  • Shane Green has been chosen as the senior Top Topper for Hillsboro High School this month of January.  Shane likes to hunt in his spare time and cruise in his Dodge truck.  In addition, Shane enjoys welding with many different projects.  Shane’s favorite type of music is Rock ‘n Roll and Country.  Cede Thacker motivates Shane to succeed in life.  Shane’s advice for other students is to go to Okaw Vocational School and “dream to make fat stacks.” An inspirational quote Shane likes is “I ain’t here for a long time, but I’m here for a good time”. Shane’s favorite class is Reader’s Response.  Shane would like to give a shout out to Evan Lynch because he is his best pal. His goal after high school is to be a professional welder.

  • Trenton White is the Junior Top Topper for the month of January at Hillsboro High School. Trent is the son of Tim and Natalie White. If you asked Trent what motivates him he would say that his father inspires him to succeed in life. In his spare time, Trent likes to shoot guns, ride four-wheelers, and listen to heavy metal. Trent also likes to read and his favorite books are the Daniel X Series by James Patterson. One of his favorite quotes is: “Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to other people”. He would like to give a shout out Colin Liebscher because they sit in Multimedia together and have a good time. His plan after high school is to be an endocrinologist, and his advice for other students is to not procrastinate.


  • Jabin Lehnen is the chosen sophomore Top Topper at HHS this month. Jabin's parents are Terry Lehnen and Shannon Lehnen.  Jabin's favorite class is Biology because he learns while having fun. Jabin likes to lift, fish, ride bikes, and play football in his free time. Jabin will be playing baseball in the spring for HHS.  Jabin’s mom motivates him to succeed in life. His advice for other students is “be nice and respectful.” Jabin plans on going to college after high school.

     
  • Ean Ogden is the daughter of Johni & Doug Ogden. Ean’s favorite class is Art because she gets to be creative as she wants. In her spare time she likes to read, draw, or watch Netflix. Ean enjoys reading fiction, science-fiction, and mystery books. She is affiliated with the Rembrandt Society and Operetta here at HHS. Her favorite song is Uptown Girl by Billy Joel. Her parents and sister motivate her to try her hardest. Her advice to other students is to not worry about the small stuff just look at the big picture. Her favorite quote is “As a child you idolize Batman but as an adult you realize that the Joker makes more sense.” She would like to give a SHOUTOUT to Katie Page, because she is her best friend and will always be there for her. Her plans after high school is to go to nursing school.

  • Baron Floyd is one of the HHS Freshman Top Toppers chosen this month at Hillsboro High School. Baron is the son of Meta Jo and Bruce Floyd. His future plans are to attend Iowa University and then get a job. His favorite class is Mr. Burke’s English class because he can have a good laugh and still learn. In his spare time Baron likes to fish and play video games with his friends. Although Baron does not read a lot his favorite book genre is fiction. Baron plays football and baseball for HHS and is motivated by good friends and always wanting to try hard. His advice for other students is if you don’t want a stupid answer don’t ask a stupid question and his favorite quote is “Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today”- Abraham Lincoln. He would also like to give a shootout to Gage Odle for being a good friend and sharing a bunch of laughs.

  • Katie Page is a Top Topper chosen to represent the freshman class at HHS this month of January. Her parents are Sherri Boliard and Mathew Page. Katie’s favorite class is Art because she gets to show her creativity. In her spare time, Katie likes hanging out with her friends and family, and creating art. Katie enjoys reading the ‘Spy’ series by Meg Cabot. She is involved in Rembrandt Society and FCCLA at HHS. Her favorite song is ‘The Miracle’ by U2. The person that motivates Katie to succeed in life would be her family. The advice she would like to give to other students is even if things don’t go as planned try to make the most out of it. An inspirational quote that Katie likes is “You can’t change who you are, but you can change who choose to be.” Katie would like to give a shout out to McKenzie Gipson, because she has been there for her no matter what and can make her smile at any time. Katie’s plans after high school are to go to college to get a degree and to be a graphic designer.
