• 2017-2018 TOPPER PRIDE AWARD

The Topper Pride Award is given to one student from each grade level once a month. Nominations are submitted by faculty for a student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction.  Teachers also observe acts of kindness and good citizenship.  Students are nominated by teachers and the winner for each month is selected by Mrs. Heyen.

Students who are chosen for this awarded are highlighted in The Journal-News, receive a certificate and a small prize from Mrs. Heyen.  They are entered into two raffles: one for all Topper Pride Award Recipients to possibly win Project 41 points for their grade level and a grand prize raffle per grade level.  Raffles will take place at the end of the school year.  The students will also receive a Topper Pride t-shirt from the faculty.

The idea behind the Topper Pride Award was to reward behavior that is often over-looked.  There is hope that the award will grow to the point that it creates a postiive school climate of connected individuals. Ghandi suggested that one should, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." The Top Topper Program recognizes those who exhibit a willingness to contribute their efforts in making Hillsboro High School a better place.
