• 2018-2019 TOPPER PRIDE AWARD

The Topper Pride Award is given to one student from each grade level once a month starting in October. Nominations are submitted by faculty for a student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction.  It may be an ongoing act and/or one specific and deliberate act of random kindness.  Students are nominated by teachers and the winner for each month is selected by Mrs. Heyen.

Students who are chosen for this award are highlighted in The Journal-News, the school website, the school announcements, the bulletin board at school, the school Facebook page, and TV's located throughout school.  In addition, students will receive a certificate and a prize.

Huge thank you to local businesses for supporting this program:  Eisentraut's with the Orpheum Theatre, Hillsboro Dairy Queen, Hillsboro Subway, Hillsboro McDonald's, and Gianni's Pizza.

The Topper Pride Award is designed to promote a positive school climate of connected individuals. Ghandi suggested that one should, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." The Top Topper Program recognizes those who exhibit a willingness to contribute their efforts in making Hillsboro High School a better place.
