2015-2016 TOP TOPPERS AT HHS
The Top Topper is awarded monthly to an HHS student showing exemplified characteristics in leadership, attitude, and direction. Teachers of HHS nominate students with administration making the final decision.

Colton Fuller has been chosen as the December Top Topper at Hillsboro High School. Colton is the son of Marcy and Denny Jorn and Kelly Fuller. Colton's favorite class is microbiology because it is interesting and Mr. Garmon is a great teacher. In Colton's spare time he enjoys playing soccer, running track and working with computers. His favorite book is Perks of Being a Wallflower. This year at HHS Colton is involved with the soccer and track team, the Born Brave Club, and Interact Club. He loves all types of music and his advice to other students is to be positive and please please PLEASE use the right door. Colton is motivated to succeed in life by Mr. Burke, his family, his friends, and Candie Jurgens. His inspirational quote is "It is our choices that show us what we truly are far more than our abilities."-Albus Dumbledore. Colton would like to give a shout out to Candie Jurgens because she has been there for me through it all. After high school Colton plans on attending Lincoln Land Community College for two years.

Lauryn Tuetken is the December Top Topper for the Junior Class. Lauryn is the daughter of Bret and Lisa Tuetken. Her favorite class is Multimedia because she loves taking pictures and working on the website and Mrs. Rench is awesome. While at HHS Lauryn plays on both the girls basketball and softball teams. In Lauryn's spare time she plays on a traveling softball team and enjoys watching her brother play sports. Lauryn enjoyed reading the Hunger Games trilogy and she also enjoys Nicholas Sparks books. Her favorite music to listen to is current pop music and her advice to other students is to enjoy high school and take your classes seriously and have friends! Her future motivates her to succeed in life and she likes the inspirational quote: "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!"-Babe Ruth. Lauryn would like to give a shout out to Madi Ondry because they have almost every class together. After high school Lauryn plans on going to college to earn a degree!

Anne Mattson has been chosen the December Top Topper for December at HHS. Anne is the daughter of Dave and Erin Mattson. Anne's favorite subject is math because going through the steps to a problem help her focus and she enjoys learning how the world works. In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, pretending she is cool, and drinking coffee. At HHS Anne is involved in tennis, soccer, band, choir, and FCA. Knowing that hard work will pay off, even though it seems like a long ways away is what motivates her to succeed in life. Her advice to other students is to not spend all of high school and your life thinking about your future because you will reach the end and realize you never appreciated where have been. Anne's inspirational quote she likes is "I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frado. "So do I," said Gandalf. "And so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." Anne would like to give a shout out to Hannah Anderson because she is an inspiring supportive friend and good at everything she does. After high school Anne would like to attend college for something math related.

Donavan Moore is the son of Dennis and Felicia Moore and Donavan has been chosen as the Top Topper for December at HHS. Donavan likes all his classes at Hillsboro High School and he is an active member on the boys basketball team. In his spare time Donavan enjoys playing Xbox and chilling with his friends. His favorite book is The Shack and he listens to rap music. The people who motivate him to do better in life are all "the haters". His advice to other students is to never give up and keep working hard. Donanvan would like to give a shoutout to Kaiden White because he is a good friend. After high school Donavan would like to play college basketball.
