• Material: binder, loose leaf, graph paper recommended but not required, either a scientific calculator or a TI-83/84

An online, free resource known as Demos.com eliminates the need for students to purchase their own graphing calculator. Graphing calculators can be borrowed from the teacher, and the free tool (Desmos) will be used regularly.  Students who have the highest hopes for their SAT score would do well to buy the graphing calculator and independently familiarize themselves as much as possible with the tool prior to taking the SAT. AP students also may have a unique desire to acquire their own grapher. This is not a required purchase and should only be done if the student and his/her family has this desire.  A graphing calculator can pretty much always be borrowed as needed.
