Mr. S. Chris Harms
Welcome! My name is Chris Harms, and I am the Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Forensics I, and Forensics II teacher at Hillsboro High School. In addition, I also serve as the National Honor Society sponsor. I am a 2010 graduate of Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, Illinois. I graduated from SIUE with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science (with teacher licensure) in 2015, and I completed my Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University (Emporia, KS) in 2023. I started my teaching career in 2015, and I have taught numerous courses, from the physical sciences (chemistry, physical science, physics, and chemistry II) to the life sciences (biology, anatomy and physiology, AP biology). I have even taught earth and space science, forensics, and middle school science (both grades 7 and 8).
I am married to my husband, Noah, and we have four dogs (Sammy, Abby, Bo, and Bruiser) as well as two cats (Fred and Laura). We currently reside in Litchfield. My hobbies include listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, and collecting TY Beanie Babies (the latter of which I am obsessed with).
I am looking forward to making my mark at Hillsboro High School, as I hope to aid my students in their quest to become college and/or career ready. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns (as I am happy to assist in any way that I can)!
