HHS BUILDING PROJECT

  • HILLSBORO HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT

On November 8, 2022, residents of Hillsboro CUSD 3 approved a $13M bond issue for a capital project at Hillsboro High School. Another $10 million from other available resources will be included to fund a $23 million building project.

The project will replace the 102-year-old main building at Hillsboro High School with a new structure that will connect the existing Gym Building, Cafeteria Building, and Ag. Building, resulting in a single building with one central, controlled main entrance. There will be approximately 65,000 square feet of new construction.

FREE Lunch and Breakfast for all HCUSD3 Students
The Board of Education recently voted unanimously to transition the District to a new breakfast and lunch program that will make both meals free for all students every school day. No action is required of you. All students are automatically eligible for free meals. This change will be made retroactively to the beginning of this school year. All student food service accounts have been refunded for standard meals purchased since the beginning of the year. Extra milk at the elementary and a-la carte and extra food at the Jr. High and High School will not be free. You may choose to leave funds in your students’ food service accounts to pay for these extra items or you may request a refund.
Requests for refunds can be made by contacting Heather Greenwood at (217) 532-2942 or hgreenwood@hillsboroschools.net
