    6th Grade: (Front Row) Emily Peterson and Landon Reincke 8th Grade: Gage Putnam and Maysie Phillips  

    7th Grade: Kyleah Reynold and Saul Quiroz

    6th Grade

    Emily Peterson is a 6th grade Citizenship Award winner for the month of February at HJHS.  Emily’s favorite class is Art.  She enjoys drawing in her spare time and she participates in the Art Club at HJHS as well.  When she grows up she would like to become an Artist. Her favorite sport is badminton. Emily enjoys reading comic books.  Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Matthews because she is funny. Emily would love to give a shout out to her mom because she is supportive, smart, and nice.  If Emily could go anywhere in the world, she would like to go to Japan because she finds their culture interesting.

    Landon Reincke is another 6th grade Citizenship Award winner for the month of February at HJHS.  Landon's favorite class at HJHS is Math with Mrs. Matthews.  Mrs. Matthews is Landon's favorite teacher because she is fair and disciplines us kids very well.  Landon likes to work on the farm in his spare time because when he grows up he wants to be a farmer. When he is not working on the farm, he enjoys the farm simulator 2016 app on his phone. Landon likes to read books about Tim Tebow.  His favorite quote is "Work Smarter, Not Harder". If Landon could go on a dream vacation, it would be to Colorado to snow ski. 

    7th Grade

    Kyleah Reynolds is a 7th grade Citizenship Award winner for the month of February at HJHS.  Kyleah’s favorite class at HJHS is Computers and Art. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. White because she is very nice, funny, and a caring teacher. When Kyleah grows up, she would like to become an Oceanologist.  Kyleah enjoys playing sports in her spare time.  Her favorite sport is Softball.  Emily participates in Basketball, Softball, and Soccer.  Her favorite quote is “The World is Your Coloring Book.” Kyleah would like to go to the Bahamas someday.

    Saul Quiroz is another 7th grade Citizenship Award winner for the month of February at HJHS.  Saul’s favorite class at HJHS is either Band or Choir. In his spare time he likes to play his instrument.  Saul participates in the Marching Band as well as the Sangamon Valley Youth Symphony. His favorite teacher is Mrs. Klump because she is very nice to him.  When Saul grows up, he would like to become a music teacher.  His favorite quote is “Music Is The Wine That Fills A Cup Of Silence.” Saul would like to go to the Japan someday.   

     

    8th Grade

    Maysie Phillips is an 8th grade Citizenship Award winner for the month of February at HJHS.  Maysie’s favorite class at HJHS is either Math or Science. In her spare time she likes to sing and listen to music.  Maysie participates in Choir. She loves all sports and can’t choose a favorite. Maysie also has a hard time choosing a favorite teacher, but says she can relate to Mrs. Hires the most because she is really easy to talk to and is understanding. Her favorite quote is “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you must keep moving forwards.”

     

    Gage Putnam is another 8th grade Citizenship Award winner for the month of February at HJHS.  Gage’s favorite class at HJHS is Social Studies and Choir. In his spare time he likes to hang out with friends.  Gage participates in Choir and Band. His favorite sport is Tennis. Gage’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Hires because she is nice, has patience, and gives him help.  When Gage grows up, he would like to become a Child Psychologist.  His favorite quote is “Some Days There Won’t Be a Song in Your Heart, Sing Anyway.” If Gage could go on a dream vacation, it would be to St. Thomas.
