Melanie Bauman
Hello! Welcome to my web page! My name is Melanie Bauman and I am the 7th grade resource teacher. I specialize in literature, language arts, and math. This is my 18th year teaching junior high students, and it is my 11th year as a HJHS Dragon! I grew up in Belleville, where I graduated from Belleville Township High School East in 1995. After high school graduation, I attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education in 1999. I'm currently a student at Rockford University working towards a Master of Arts in Teaching. I hold a professional educator license from the state of Illinois with a learning and behavior specialist endorsement.
As a student, Central Jr. High was always my favorite school. It was during my junior high years that I came out of my shell and became more involved in school. Hillsboro Jr. High has a lot of extra-curricular activities available to students with varying interests and abilities. I encourage my students to become active in their school because it is my hope that they love their jr. high experience just as much as I did mine. I want the best for my students; I encourage students and/or parents of students to contact me if they have any questions or concerns. You can reach me by calling Hillsboro Jr. High at (217)532-3742, or you can email me at mbauman@hillsboroschools.net. The best times to call me are before school, after school, or during my prep period (9:05-9:50). I'm looking forward to a great school year!
