Ms. Florence Rozmislowicz
I have been teaching 8th grade Literature since 2002 (subbing for most of 3 years and coming on full-time in 2005). Prior to that I subbed in all buildings in the district. I love when students get so involved in the story they wonder what happens next. My goal is to improve reading comprehension through connecting to stories.
I began my career in the Labor Relations field after earning a Bachelor's in Labor Relations and a Master's in Legal Studies. While working for a state-wide police union, a job I did really love, I realized that I really wanted to teach. I quit my job and went back to school to become a teacher. I am certified K - 9. with endorsements to teach Middle School, Language/Lit, Social Studies, and Math. In addition to my Bachelor's in Labor Relations and Master's in Legal Studies, I have an Associate's in Accounting and and Associate in Applied Science in Computers. I attended Lincoln Land and Sangamon State/University of Illinois Springfield.
Daily classroom activities and assignments can be found at: Plan Book If you need to speak with me, my plan period is 1st hour. You can call, or make an appointment to see me, between 8:10 and 8:50.
A little about myself: I was born in DuQuoin, IL. My family lived in Dowell, IL. We moved to Hillsboro just after my 1st birthday so Hillsboro is my hometown. I went through Beckemeyer, HJHS, and HHS. I am a proud Dragon/Topper. I go to the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church where I am the Sunday School Director for ages 2 - 5th grade; I also teach 3 year olds - Kindergarten. In addition, I am the coach of the Bible Quiz team for 6th - 12th grades. Other volunteer work I do is for Montgomery County Paws Care where I am the Volunteer Chair and the Education Co-Chair.
