I love learning! I began my love of learning at a young age by watching the adults in my life and exploring the outdoors. I loved to use my imagination! When I entered school, I really enjoyed spending time with other kids and, with some extra help, developed my love of reading. During school, I was fascinated by literature and science. I loved to learn about people through fiction and I loved to figure out how the world worked through science! I also began to play sports! I enjoyed baseball, basketball, and football even though I wasn't always the best :). I found that I relished the chance to compete against others and measure myself against them. I also began to appreciate both success and failure and what they could teach you!
I went on to attend college at Greenville University. I worked hard to get my teaching degree. While I was at Greenville University, I spent two years in the college choir, and two years on the baseball team. I developed an interest in understanding different kinds of people and what I could learn from them. I also met my wife Amanda, who is the school psychologist for our district. We have been married for 21 years. She is caring, intelligent, and capable and I have learned a great deal about being an educator from her!
I have three children. Their names are Mitchell, Jackson, and Kate. They are each unique individuals and I love their desire to understand their world and their place in it. I love watching them grow and change.
I love teaching Social Studies here at the Junior High school. I love to watch kids learn about their world and their histories. It is fun to watch them consider how we humans are different, and how we are the same! I am blessed to do this job and spend time with such wonderful students.
