Welcome to the Hillsboro Pre-Kindergarten Program!
Hillsboro Community Unit District #3 Pre-K Programs have been serving children and families in the communities of Butler, Coffeen, Donnellson, Hillsboro, Irving, Panama, Taylor Springs and Witt, since 1986. Our Pre-K classrooms are funded by the Preschool For All grant from the Illinois State Board of Education and serve children 3-5 years of age. There are no fees or charges for attending Pre-K. We are located at 2 attendance sites in Hillsboro District #3; Coffeen Early Childhood Center (formerly Coffeen School), and Hillsboro Community Child Development Center (HCCDC). Both sites offer the same family involvement activities, parent resources, developmentally appropriate curriculum, certified Early Childhood Teachers, and state certified teaching assistants. We offer half-day classes (a.m. & p.m.) 5 days a week during the regular district school year. We offer bussing to the Coffeen site for students throughout the entire school district.
Hillsboro Pre-K classrooms provide the least restrictive inclusionary setting for all children, regardless of their developmental level or disability, by fully blending Pre-Kindergarten and Early Childhood Special Education services.
Hillsboro Preschool for All Program was recently awarded the Gold Circle of Quality after rigourous state evaluations of our classroom environment and quality of instruction. This is the highest level of quality a program can be recognized for by the Illinois State Board of Education through ExceleRate Illinois.
