Pre-K Coordinator & Instructional Leader
I taught Pre-K from 2000-2018 (in Coffeen since 2002). I LOVE teaching Pre-K!! It is a passion of mine and I truly enjoy teaching and watching these young children grow! I moved into the role of Pre-K Coordinator and Instructional Leader for our program in 2018, and am excited to continue working with our littlest students and their families, as well as to be a support to the amazing teachers of this program.
Students call me "Miss Sarah" since my last name is a little tricky. (Yes, that's really a "P" at the end!!)
I completed my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education in 2000 at Greenville College, and received a Master's in Special Education with an emphasis in early childhood at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2006.
I am married to Hillsboro High School grad, Kevin VanMiddendorp (Class of '00). I have a 3 year old daughter, a 9 year old son, and a 16 year old step-daughter. My greatest joy in life is spending time with my family. I also enjoy running, reading, and camping. Coffee and ice cream are two of my "love languages". I also enjoy chocolate & Key Lime LaCroix ;)
Please feel free to contact me any time if you have questions about our program. Be sure to check out the rest our website to learn more about our Pre-K & First Steps!
