Pre-K Teacher

I taught pre-k for the first 18 years of my career (17 of those in Coffeen-- since 2002).  PreK is a passion of mine and I truly enjoy teaching and watching these young children grow!  I moved into the role of Instructional Leader & PreK Coordinator for our program in 2018, which allows me to work with our littlest students and their families, as well as to be a support to the amazing teachers of this program.  In 2023, I stepped back into the classroom to teach a half-day Pre-K Class, in addition to continuing my role as Instructional Leader & PreK Coordinator.

Students call me "Miss Sarah" since my last name is a little tricky.  :)

I completed my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education in 2000 at Greenville College, and received a Master's in Special Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2006.

I have a daughter in 4th grade, and my son is a freshman in highschool.  My greatest joy in life is spending time with my kids and family.  I also enjoy running/walking, reading, musicals, camping, and just being outside in the fresh air.  Coffee and ice cream are two of my  "love languages" and I will never turn either of them down. :p

Please feel free to contact me any time if you have questions about our program.  Be sure to check out the rest of our website to learn more about our Pre-K & First Steps!
