Mrs. Waters-Special Education Teacher
Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to another great year at Beckemeyer Elementary School. I am Mrs. Waters. I am the Kindergarten Special Education teacher on staff at Beckemeyer for this school year. I am excited to utilize my extensive experience in my role as a special education teacher and case manager. Kindergarten will be an exciting time in your child's life. During the early years of school, children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow during the next few years. Early Elementary Education is so very vital to your child's school success. During this time, your child will learn a great deal. I will provide support and instruction to your child based on their Individualized Education Plan. It is a team approach to helping every child succeed. I will work closely with your child's teacher and related service providers to develop the best possible education plan and experience for your child. I hope to instill in your child a love of learning that will last throughout their education.
In addition to teaching kindergarten this school year, I will also serve as an Instructional Reading Teacher for fifth grade and as a Co-taught/Resource Writing Teacher for first grade. I am excited to utilize the knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years to teach reading and writing at a more in-depth level.
Parents are the most critical individuals in a child’s life, and we need to work together for the benefit of your child. With school and home working together, I know that every child can have a successful year. It is extremely important to remember that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at their own rate, acquiring skills as they are developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority to me.
