Mrs. Waters-Special Education Teacher
Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to another great year at Beckemeyer Elementary School. I am Mrs. Waters. I am the Kindergarten Special Educator on staff at Beckemeyer for this school year. I am really excited to utilize my many years of experience in my role as a special education teacher and case manager. Kindergarten will be an exciting time in your child's life. During the early years of school, children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow during the next few years. Early Elementary Education is so very vital to your child's school success. During this time, your child will learn so much. I will be providing support and instruction to your child based on his/her Individualized Education Plan. It is a team approach to help each and every child succeed. I will be working closely with your child's teacher and related service providers to provide the best education plan and experience possible for your child. I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s education.
In addition to teaching kindergarten this school year, I will be an additional Instructional Reading Teacher for fifth grade. I am excited to utilize the knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years to teach reading at a more in-depth level.
Parents are the most important individuals in a child’s life, and we need to work together for the benefit of your child. With school and home working together, I know that each and every child can have a successful year. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills, as he/she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority to me.
