Mrs. Stephanie Thomas

Hello, my name is Mrs. Thomas and I am the Student Interventionist at Beckemeyer Elementary.  I began my career working with children in 1994.  I worked in a residential children’s home.  After that job experience, I worked at a community mental health center for several years, again with children.  This position led me to a position with ROE #3 in their alternative education programs as a Crisis Interventionist.  I enjoyed 7 years at the ROE and then moved on to work for 6 years as an educational trainer and consultant for the IL Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) Network.  I then worked as a District-level PBIS Coach for 6 years through a federal school improvement grant.  All of these experiences combined prepared me for my current role as the Student Interventionist for Beckemeyer.

I am the mother to one son, Jace, who is 12 years old.   I am also a “bonus mom” to Lilly and Cooper.

For fun, I enjoy time with family and friends.  On the weekends, we enjoy side by side riding and time at the lake.  I also enjoy reading and listening to podcasts.  Most importantly, I love to laugh.  There are many opportunities to laugh, each day – especially when working with elementary age students!
