Allergies

Supporting Students with Allergies at Hillsboro CUSD #3

While we can’t completely eliminate allergen exposure at school, we can work together to reduce risks and keep our students safe. Our families, staff, and students all play an important role!

Here’s what the District is doing:

  • Identifying students with allergies
  • Partnering with families and staff to put reasonable prevention measures in place (based on the allergy type, severity, age, and other needs)
  • Training staff to recognize and respond to allergic reactions

About Nuts in Our Schools:

  • Our elementary and junior high cafeterias do not knowingly serve foods containing nuts.
  • Teachers do not provide snacks that contain nuts in noted classrooms.
  • Parents may still pack any food of their choice in a home-packed lunch, unless a specific allergy plan (like a peanut-free table) is in place for an individual student.

Thank you for helping us create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students!
