Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 is committed to providing safe, reliable transportation for all eligible students. Our Transportation Department works daily to ensure that students arrive at school and return home safely, on time, and ready to learn.

Our Commitment to Safety

Student safety is our top priority. All HCUSD #3 bus drivers are trained and certified to meet state requirements, and our buses undergo regular inspections and maintenance. We work closely with families, schools, and staff to support safe transportation habits and reinforce proper behavior on and around school buses.

Who Is Eligible for Bus Transportation?

The district provides bus transportation to students who meet state and district guidelines for eligibility. Families will receive route and pick-up information prior to the start of the school year or upon enrolling.

Bus Routes & Pick-Up Times

Bus routes are designed to serve students efficiently and safely. Pick-up and drop-off times may vary based on location, weather, and traffic conditions. Families are encouraged to have students at their designated stop 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.

Updated route information will be shared through district communication tools and on the HCUSD #3 website when necessary.

Weather & Emergency Notifications

In the event of weather delays, cancellations, or route changes, families will be notified through ParentSquare, district email, and local announcements. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date so you receive timely alerts.

Expectations for Students

To keep transportation running smoothly, students are expected to:

• Follow all bus safety rules

• Listen to the driver’s instructions

• Remain seated while the bus is moving

• Treat other riders and the driver with respect
