• HHS Receives Professional System

    from St. Louis Dairy Council

Joyce Friki, of the St. Louis District Dairy Council, presented the Hillsboro High School Family and Consumer Sciences Department with a Ninja Professional Kitchen System on November 19th.  Mrs. Coleman, FACS teacher, won the system by attending an educational workshop on the topic of “Bringing Local to Life” which was sponsored by the council and held at Eckert’s Country Store and Farms in Belleville in October.

HHS Culinary Arts and Wellness students recently participated in a cheese tasting lesson focusing on the types of cheese, types of milk used, flavor and palatable texture, in which the council provided a grant to purchase a variety of cheeses for the classroom lesson. For more information on the FACS program at HHS, please contact Mrs. Coleman at tcoleman@hillsboroschools.net.
