The squad is composed of 16 girls;8 8th graders, and 8 7th graders. Cheerleaders cheer at all home games and some of the away games during the boys' basketball season. Practice is held after school Monday - Thursday, beginning the third week in September, until mid-November. Once games begin, practice is held whenever the schedule allows. Besides regular season games, the cheerleaders march with the junior high band at the Old Settlers' Kiddie Parade. Try-outs for the squad take place in May. During try-outs, cheerleader candidates are required to learn a dance, floor cheer, 2-3 sidelines, as well as demonstrate jumps and tumbling skills
