Changes For
2003-3004
Early Dismissal Incentive
Program
- We will have
an 8 period day.
- The first
7 periods will be the same format as last year.
- The 8th period
will be mandatory tutoring for anyone who is failing any subject.
- All students
who are passing everything will be dismissed at 2:40, when 8th hour starts.
- Students who
do not have a way home will wait in the library for the regular dismissal
at 3:20.
- Athletic practices
will begin at the end of 7th period.
- The list of
students who are required to stay for tutoring will be made each time interims
are sent and each time report cards are sent. A student can be added to the
list at any time by teacher referral.
- When school
starts in the fall, tutoring assignments will be made based on the 4th quarter
grades from the previous year.
- Our goal is
to encourage more students to make passing grades and to reward them for doing
so.
English
- Graduation
requirements in English will be reduced from 4 to 3 years.
- The fourth
year of English is highly recommended by us and required by most colleges
and vocational schools. All seniors should consider a 4th year of English

- The Consumer
Ed. requirement can be met in one of three ways--Consumer Ed. (1 semester),
Adult Living (1 semester) or Consumer Math (1 year).
Band and Choir
- Band and Choir
will receive one academic credit per year and the grade will be figured into
the GPA. They will require participation and tests.

be considered a sophomore, a student must have earned a minimum of 3 1/2 academic
credits.
- In order to
be considered a junior, a student must have earned a minimum of 7 1/2 academic
credits.
- In order to
be considered a senior, a student must have earned a minimum of 10 1/2 academic
