District Auditions

On October 10th, we had seven students audition for the I.M.E.A. (Illinois Music Educators Association) District Choir. The are Seth B., Kale B., Chelsey B., Blake D., Channing F., Jonathan M., and Devin M.. These students had an extremely difficult audition and all put in a lot of time and effort. Once they were at the audition, they had to receive high enough scores (against everyone in the district) in order to make it to the District Festival! I am so proud of each and everyone of them!!

Pops Concert

The Pops Concert we a success! The show choir along with the concert choir opened up with a meledly from Mamma Mia, which features song by the popular group ABBA. The show choir then sang and danced to three upbeat numbers. As an ending to our show, we played a slide show made up of Veteran's pictures, most of which were relatives to our choir students. The slide show was played along with the choir singing You Raise Me Up. I would like to thank all the patents who helped out with this concert.

District Festival

All seven students who auditioned for districts made it! The District Festival was on November 19th. Devin M. and Kale B. were asked to compete in a National Anthem Competition at Districts because their scores were one of the top four scores in their section at Districts. It was a great day with lots of beautiful music.

Show Choir

The show choir has done a remarkable job this year! In November they were invited to sing at the Macoupin County Baptist Association Seniors Luncheon, which was held at the First Baptist Church of Litchfield, There were around a 100 people in the audience and the choir did a fantastic job. Recently, the have been busy singing for local Christmas parties around town.

The choir students are already anticipation the start of rehearsals which will begin officially on January 30th! The dates for the musical are April 20th, 21st, and 22nd!! We're looking forward to it!!

All-State

This year we have two students who made it into the All-State, Honors Choir!!! The way that a students makes it to All-state is by receiving very high scores at their district audtioion. The way that a students makes it into the Honors Choir at the All-State Convention is by receiving the top scores at districts and throughout the state of Illinois. This is a HUGE honor and it belongs to Kale B. and Devin M.! We're very proud of them! They will be attending the All-State Convention at the end of January.
