Mark B. DalPozzo has been the Director of Bands and Music Department Chair since 1987. A graduate of Staunton (IL) High School, he received the Bachelor of Music Education in 1975 and the Master of Music Education in 1983, both from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Mr. DalPozzo has been a music educator in the state of Illinois since 1976.
Mr. DalPozzo's duties in the Hillsboro district include the 5th grade beginner band and all instrumental activities at HHS. An active performer on the trombone, he performs in several area adult bands and teaches the trombone privately. Mr. DalPozzo also both performs with and arranges European marches for the ISU Alumni Band's internationally-acclaimed recordings in the Heritage of the March series.
Mr. DalPozzo's professional and honorary
affiliations include: Illinois Music Educator's Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
music fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity, Tubist's Universal Brotherhood
Association, International Trombone Association, the Historic Brass Society,
the International Military Music Society, the Frantisek Kmoch Czech Band Society,
Windjammers Unlimited Circus Band Society, and was inducted into Phi Beta Mu
International Bandmasters Association in January of 2003. He also was
named as a Nationally Registered Music Educator by the Music Educators National
Conference and is listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers. In
addition, Mr. DallPozzo has been selected to a Music Advisory Committee for
Greenville College's music education program and is currently serving on the
review board for the Illinois Teacher Certification Testing system.
