Amy Manasco currently teaches 5th-12th grade instrumental music in the Hillsboro school district. Mrs. Manasco graduated magna cum laude from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1998, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. In college, Mrs. Manasco was a member of the clarinet section of the Marching Salukis, Saluki Pep Band, wind ensemble, and symphony orchestra. Also at SIU, Mrs. Manasco spent three years as the student assistant for the Southern Illinois Children’s Choir. Awards received include the Intravia Scholarship and the May Dorsey Memorial Scholarship. She was also an active member and officer of the SIU chapter of the Illinois Collegiate Music Educators’ Association.
Since graduation, Mrs. Manasco has taught in the Altamont and St. Elmo school districts before coming to Hillsboro in the fall of 2000. In Hillsboro, she has taught junior high band and music from 2000-2010 and 5th-12th grade band since 2010. Mrs. Manasco enjoys singing, playing the clarinet and guitar, and reading. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Jamie, and her children, Noah and Addison.
