Festival History -
The Area Honor Band Festival has had
a rich tradition of providing a challenging educational opportunity for
talented high school musicians in Central Illinois for the past 34 years.
This festival was started by two wonderful band directors, Ollie Dubre
from Pana, and John Reid, from Stonington back in 1970 for the purpose
of performing in a larger, more proficient concert band than normally
accustomed, hosting a guest conductor whose talents will be of educational
value to students, and to perform high quality, challenging musical works.
