CLASSROOM DRIVER TRAINING
OPEN TO GRADES: 9, 10 (15 year old freshmen will be considered second semester if space available and schedule adapts)
PREREQUISITES: Placement on basis of age
LENGTH OF COURSE: 9 weeks
CREDIT: Required Class, 1/8 non-academic
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a course in the fundamentals of driving skill, a basic understanding of the mechanics of the automobile, and the development of defensive driving attitudes. This course is offered to pupils who are near 16 years of age or will be 16 before the end of the semester. Minimum attendance is 30 clock hours.
 

 

PRACTICE DRIVING TRAINING
OPEN TO GRADES: 10, 11, 12
PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of Clasroom Driver Training. Assignments made on the basis of age and grade eligibility. Students must have passed 8 academic credits in the 2 previous semesters.
LENGTH OF COURSE: 9 weeks
CREDIT: 1/8 non-academic
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Practice driving instruction shall include actual experience in stopping, starting, stopping, shifting, turning, backing, parking, steering and emergency situation procedure in a vehicle equipped according to the regulations of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The minimum individual driving time is six clock hours and twelve clock hours of observation. To complete the driving experience, drivers are required to successfully pass a driving test. Also student must complete 25 clock hours of driving time with parents or guardians before eligible for drivers license under GDL laws.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a comprehensive modern approach to health education. It will help the student to understand health concepts through direct and simple explanations. This approach helps students apply health knowledge in making intelligent decisions about their health and encourages them to achieve and maintain a high level of physical, mental, and social well-being. Instruction provided explaing about aids and steroids.

 

 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
OPEN TO GRADES: 9, 10, 11, 12
PREREQUISITES: None
LENGTH OF COURSE: 1 semester for grade 9, 1 year for 10-12
CREDIT: 1/2 academic credit per semester/Required
COURSE DESCRIPTION: 1. To familiarize the students with a variety of sports activities and their rules.
2. To develop the basic skills needed to participate in these sports activities.
3. To encourage positive attitudes and a sense of responsibility towards classmates and oneself.
4. To allow further skill developments and concentrated activity in Sports area used for lifetime recreation.
5. To emphasize fitness of one's body for a positive health condition.

 

 

"0" Hour Weight Training
OPEN TO GRADES: 10, 11, 12
PREREQUISITES: None
LENGTH OF COURSE: 1 semester
CREDIT: 1/2 academic credit per semester/Elective
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 7:20 a.m. PE classes taught for those who are interested in physical conditioning conducted in the weight room. Enrollment is limited to 40 students.


 
"0" Hour PE-Fusion Fitness Class
OPEN TO GRADES: 11, 12
PREREQUISITES: Must be grades 11 or 12 and meet the requirements for 0 hour PE
LENGTH OF COURSE: 1 semester
Fusion Days—7:15 a.m.-7:50 a.m.; School Days—7:20 a.m.-8:00 a.m.
CREDIT: 1/2 academic credit per semester/Elective
COURSE DESCRIPTION: To familiarize students with a variety of activities that are offered at a typical fitness club. To familiarize students with a variety of sports activities and their rules. To encourage positive attitudes and a sense of responsibility towards classmates and self. To allow further skill developments and activity in sports areas for lifietime recreation. To emphasize fitness of one's body for a positive health condition.
