LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM

The Life Skills Program is a curriculum approach that blends academic, daily living, personal/social, and occupational skills into integrated lessons designed to help students learn to function independently in society. Life skills include a wide range of knowledge and skill interactions believed to be essential for adult independent living.

The Life Skills Program provides a wide variety of experiences for students with special needs. Students who are eligible require education and support to learn three major skill areas, which are daily living, personal/social, and occupational skills.

The ultimate goals of the Life Skills Program include preparation for the world of work, development of life skills, and becoming independent, responsible, and productive citizens.
